Odumase-Krobo (E/R), Oct. 17, GNA – Tymcoin Pharmacies has opened a 24-hour branch at Odumase-Krobo, giving residents access to medicines and other pharmaceutical services outside conventional working hours.
The facility, located in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, forms part of the company’s support for the government’s 24-Hour Economy Programme.
Dr Emmanuel Matey Philansmith, Chief Executive Officer of Tymcoin Pharmacies, said the initiative would extend essential health services and support round-the-clock economic activity.
He explained that the company’s decision reflected its commitment to supporting the programme at the local level.
“Personally, I am a member of the NDC, so I believe in John Mahama’s agenda. I asked myself what my company could do to make this dream a reality,” he said.
“In Lower Manya Krobo, we want to lead that vision, which is why we have opened a 24-hour pharmacy to support our President’s vision,” he added.
Dr Philansmith said the company operated branches in different parts of Ghana and remained committed to bringing pharmaceutical services closer to residents.
He noted that the new branch would allow residents to obtain medicines at night and during other periods when most pharmacies were closed.
The government’s 24-Hour Economy Programme seeks to increase productivity, create employment and stimulate economic growth by encouraging businesses and institutions to operate beyond conventional hours.
The inauguration included a community health screening exercise that attracted more than the targeted 2,000 participants.
Residents were screened for hypertension, diabetes, malaria, typhoid fever, hepatitis and other health conditions.
Dr Philansmith disclosed that some participants recorded blood pressure readings above healthy levels, with some reaching 200.
Others recorded elevated blood sugar levels, he added.
He expressed concern about the findings and stressed the importance of regular health checks and early detection in managing medical conditions.
“For how long will they continue living with these conditions? Now that we are in Lower Manya, we will find solutions to help them manage their health conditions,” he said.
Dr Philansmith pledged that the company would continue supporting residents’ health needs by improving access to pharmaceutical services.
The facility adds to private-sector participation in extending essential services beyond conventional operating hours under the 24-Hour Economy Programme.
