Debeiso (W/NR), Sept. 2, GNA – Mr Wilbert Petty Brentum, the Western North Regional Minister, has undertaken a working visit to the Bia West District to inspect ongoing development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and social services in the area.
The visit formed part of efforts to monitor the progress of work and ensure that projects were executed according to schedule and specifications.
The inspection covered projects funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), self-initiated interventions and other legacy projects.
Among the projects inspected were the 24-Hour Economy Market at Oseikojokrom, Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds with washroom facilities at Asuopri and Kojo Aba, the completion of a CHPS compound at Asuontaa, and a CHPS facility with a staff bungalow at Kramokrom.
The Regional Minister also visited the rehabilitation site of a six-unit classroom block at Oforikrom, a completed kindergarten block at New Agogo, the construction of a three-unit classroom block with offices and stores at New Papase, a three-unit classroom block at Nsowkrom, and a three-unit Junior High School block at Kumkumso.
Speaking to the media after the inspection, Mr Brentum commended Mr Mustapha Amadu Tanko, Member of Parliament for Bia West, and Mr Matthew Annor, the District Chief Executive (DCE), for their support and commitment towards the development of the district.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the projects and stressed the importance of completing them on schedule to enable residents to benefit from the intended services.
Mr Annor, on his part, expressed gratitude to the Regional Minister and his team for their continuous guidance and support in helping the Assembly deliver on its mandate.
He said regular monitoring visits to project sites were necessary to ensure value for money, improve the quality of work and facilitate the timely completion of projects.
The DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to undertaking development initiatives that would improve the socio-economic well-being of residents in the district.
