Hohoe (V/R), Sept. 30, GNA – The Volta Regional Directorate of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO, has presented relief items to victims of the Hohoe flood.
The items include 100 mattresses, 50 bags of rice, 20 cartoons of cooking oil, bales of used clothes, plastic buckets, plates, mosquito nets and repellant.
Mr Pascal Agbagba, Volta Regional Director, NADMO presenting the items said they were an interim measure to take care of the situation.
He commended the Assembly for providing safe havens for victims.
Mr Agbagba said the regional office was in touch with the National Directorate of the Organisation to provide more support.
Mr. Prosper Kumi, the Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) received the items expressed gratitude to the organisation.

He said the affected communities were many, hence a committee, which included Chiefs and Assembly Members had been formed to ensure equitable distribution of support and relief items.
Mr Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, the Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) attributed the incident to a downpour upstream Togo.
He said the three-day downpour in Togo caused a rise in the water level of the River Dayi which took its source from Togo.
Mr Tsekpo said the consistent downpour in Hohoe had also contributed significantly to the disaster.
