Kadjebi (O/R), Sept. 25, GNA – A total of 63 aspirants have successfully filed their nomination forms to contest various executive positions in the Akan Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Oti Region.
Mr Emmanuel Klu, the Akan NDC Director of Elections, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Thursday, September 24, following the close of nominations at Kadjebi.
He said two candidates each had filed to contest the positions of Chairman, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Women’s Organiser, Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer, Communication Officer, Deputy Communication Officer and Other Youth.
Mr Klu said four candidates each were contesting the positions of Vice-Chairman, Deputy Women’s Organiser and Deputy Youth Organiser.
He said the positions of Organiser, Youth Organiser, Deputy Organiser and Zongo Caucus attracted three candidates each.
Again, the eight Other Members positions attracted the highest number of aspirants, with 21 candidates filing to contest.
He said the various nominations had been received and duly recorded, bringing the total number of aspirants for the constituency executive positions to 63.
Mr Klu wished all the aspirants well and urged them to conduct their campaigns peacefully and in accordance with the party’s rules and regulations.
The election is scheduled for October 24, 2026, when delegates will elect executives to manage the affairs of the constituency.
The contest forms part of the NDC’s internal electoral process to constitute constituency-level executives across the country.
