Aflao (V/R), Sept. 25, GNA – Mr William Nyatepe Dzatabu has filed his nomination to contest for the position of Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Constituency.
Mr Dzatabu filed his nomination accompanied by some supporters, who expressed confidence in his candidature and pledged their continued support throughout the electoral process.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Dzatabu said his decision to contest was driven by his desire to serve the party and contribute to strengthening its communication machinery.
He said his years of service in various communication roles within the party had prepared him for the position.
Mr Dzatabu has served as a Branch Communications Officer for three terms and currently holds the position of Aflao Wego Zonal Communications Officer.
He is also an active member of the Ketu South Constituency Research and Communications Team and was part of the party’s 2024 campaign team, where he contributed to research and communication activities.
Mr Dzatabu said his experience at the branch, zonal and constituency levels had given him a good understanding of the communication needs of the party.
“I am deeply grateful for the massive backing I received and continue to receive from all well-meaning party members and the general public since my announcement to become the Deputy Communications Officer,” he said.
He expressed confidence in successfully going through the vetting process and obtaining the mandate to serve the party in the position.
Mr Dzatabu had earlier outlined plans to strengthen communication within the constituency through greater collaboration, capacity building and improved grassroots engagement.
He said he intended to support regular training programmes for communicators, strengthen rural communication channels, and promote effective dissemination of party information across all levels.
Mr Dzatabu also emphasised inclusivity, saying he would encourage the participation of women and young communicators while ensuring fair representation for all five zones within the constituency.
He said effective communication remained important to party organisation and engagement and pledged to work with executives and stakeholders to strengthen communication structures in the constituency.
