Sekondi (W/R), Sept. 13, GNA – Mr Blay Nyameke Armah, Member of Parliament for Sekondi, has announced plans to print free textbooks for all schoolchildren in the constituency by 2028.
The initiative forms part of his commitment to improving the quality of education in the area.
Mr Armah made the announcement when he donated 300,000 exercise books to pupils in public and private schools across the constituency.
He said the gesture was aimed at easing the financial burden on parents and ensuring that no child lacked basic learning materials.
According to him, providing textbooks would also enable teachers to unlock the full potential of learners and improve academic performance.
The MP expressed concern that inadequate teaching and learning materials had contributed to declining educational standards in Sekondi, a situation he was determined to reverse.
He described education as a tool for fighting poverty and improving living conditions and called on residents to support his development initiatives.
Mr Armah assured parents, teachers and pupils of more life-changing interventions in the education sector in the coming days.
