Nangodi (U/E), Sept. 24, GNA – Mr John Adoku Abaah, a businessperson seeking to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Organiser position in the Nabdam Constituency, has pledged to build an accessible, active and responsive youth structure if elected.
He said his leadership would focus on strengthening youth organisation at the polling-station level through improved communication, mobilisation, mentorship and opportunities for young people across the constituency.
Mr Abaah made the commitment on Wednesday in Nangodi when he filed his nomination to contest the constituency Youth Organiser position.
“Our 55 polling stations must not simply be numbers on an organisational chart. They must become active centres of youth engagement, mobilisation, information-sharing and development,” he said.
Mr Abaah said he would work with youth organisers across the 55 polling stations to establish a structure through which the concerns of young people could be communicated through the constituency leadership and receive the necessary attention.
He said young people in the constituency had diverse needs and aspirations, including access to employment, skills development, entrepreneurship opportunities, mentorship and avenues to contribute to community development.
The aspirant said his experience in business had taught him that sustainable structures required organisation, discipline and responsiveness, principles he intended to apply to the constituency’s youth wing.
He said the youth organisation should encourage young people to participate in the party not only as supporters at political events, but also as organisers, communicators, entrepreneurs and future leaders.
Mr Abaah said he was offering himself for the position with a commitment to listen, learn and work with young people and youth organisers across the constituency.
“I commit to working with the youth organisers across all 55 polling stations to build a structure that is accessible, active and responsive,” he said.
He also pledged to promote communication, mobilisation, mentorship and opportunities for young people while helping to create a youth organisation that would give them a voice, develop their capacities and prepare them for greater responsibilities.
Mr Abaah urged delegates, youth organisers and young people across the constituency to support his bid and work towards strengthening the party’s grassroots structures.
“Let us organise at every polling station, strengthen our party, empower our youth and build the future we deserve,” he said.
He said the future of Nabdam depended significantly on its young people and called for sustained efforts to organise and empower them beyond election periods.
