Nyinahin (Ash) Sept. 24, GNA – The Atwima Mponua Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has finally smoked the peace pipe and conducted elections to elect the constituency leaders for the party.
The constituency could not hold elections to elect its executive members during the period set by the National Executive Committee of the NPP for the constituency’s primaries due to disagreements and internal squabbles.
However, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, members of the party came together to elect its constituency executives, paving the way to strengthen the party structures in the constituency and ensure smooth party campaigns ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Mr Kofi Antwi Boasiako, secured 766 votes to emerge as the constituency chairman of the party.
He beat two other contestants, Mr Bismark Adjei Boadi, who had 748 votes, and Mr Jacob Yaro, who had 85 votes.
Opanin Kwadwo Asare, won the First Vice Chairman position with 739 votes after beating Mr Akwasi Osei Adu, who had 638 votes, and Mr Yakubu Salihu, who obtained 219 votes.
Mr Ransford Adusei Kwabena obtained 843 votes to secure the position of constituency secretary after beating Mr Emmanuel Domfeh, his sole challenger, who had 756 votes.
Mr. Collins Baffour won the position of Assistant Secretary with 582 votes, after beating other three contenders.
Agya Kwame Oppong was elected as the constituency organizer, after beating three other candidates with 532 votes.
The other contestants, Matthew Akosa, had 308 votes; Paul Obeng Agyemang secured 288, while Abdul Moro’s had 464 votes.
Hawa Moro garnered 976 votes to be elected as the Women Organizer.
Three persons who lost to Madam Hawa Moro in the Women Organizer race included Mercy Donkor who had 325 votes, Sophia Acheampomaa who had 54 and Adutwumwaa Dwamena who also had 232 votes.
Nana Agyemang Opambour secured 615 votes to be elected as the constituency treasurer after beating Mr George Amankwatia, who had 427 votes and Bukari Yakubu, who got 550 votes.
Mr Albert Asiedu secured 850 votes to beat Miracle Agyen, who obtained 742 votes to become the Communications Officer of the constituency.
Mr Fuseini Muhammed won with 942 votes to be elected as the Nasara Coordinator, while Bagura Mohhamed was elected unopposed as the second Vice Chairman.
The elections conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC) recorded 1,595 valid votes cast and five rejected ballots.
Mr Justice Nkrumah Boateng, the Constituency Director of Elections, commended the delegates, party members, aspirants and their supporters for remaining calm and law-abiding for the elections committee to resolve all disagreements.
He appealed for continued understanding and cooperation for the reorganization of the party to help increase their votes in the area and complement the party’s dream for victory in the year 2028.
Mr Antwi Bosiako, the Chairman, thanked the delegates and party faithfuls for choosing him and pledged to work hard for the party’s vision particularly, in the constituency and therefore, appealed for their support.
