Kpando (V/R), Sept. 26, GNA- Media practitioner and journalist Godwin Dziedzorm Adenyo has declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region.
In an interview with Ghana News Agency, Mr Adenyo said his decision followed an in-depth reflection, broad consultations and a strong sense of greater service and responsibility to the party.
He said his motivation was rooted in the desire to contribute more actively to the party’s regional communication structure and to help strengthen its engagement with the public and the grassroots.
Mr Adenyo, who has a background in journalism and broadcasting, said the Volta Region remained an important constituency for the NDC and argued that the party’s regional communication machinery required professionalism, unity, discipline and strategic communication.
“We therefore need a new era of professionalism, unity, discipline, and strategic communication – a communication machinery prepared not only to respond, but to lead the conversation and deliver victory for the NDC,” he stated.
According to him, his proposed approach would focus on developing a communication structure capable of responding effectively to national issues while proactively shaping public conversations around the party.
He said his experience in grassroots political activities, coupled with his years in journalism, had equipped him with communication experience and creative ideas which he hoped to bring to the party’s regional communication outfit.
Mr Adenyo said strengthening communication at the grassroots would be an important part of his intended contribution to the party in the region.
He said the party needed communicators who were properly coordinated and equipped to communicate its policies, programmes and achievements across different platforms and communities.
His statement also emphasised the use of modern communication strategies and creative approaches to reach audiences in an increasingly digital media environment.
Mr Adenyo’s declaration placed significant emphasis on the 2028 general election, saying the party’s communication team in the region should be prepared to communicate the record and policies of the NDC-led government.
He said the team should also be ready to engage opponents and the wider public across both traditional and digital media platforms.
In his words, the objective should be to “win the communication battle, strengthen the NDC at the grassroots, and help deliver victory at the polls in 2028 and beyond.”
His reference to the government’s developmental record represents his stated political position and campaign message.
