Akatsi (VR), Sept. 25, GNA – Fifty-four aspirants have successfully filed their nominations to contest various positions in the upcoming Akatsi South Constituency elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The nominations, which closed on Thursday, September 24, 2026, covered positions ranging from Chairman to various executive and representative positions within the constituency.
The constituency elections directorate, in a release signed by Mr Obed Agbozo, the Constituency Election Director, said two aspirants filed for the Chairmanship position, with three each contesting the positions of Vice Chairman and Deputy Secretary.
Mr Anthony Solo Adotevi and Mr Anthony Kojo Owusu are contesting the Chairmanship position, while Mr Mensah Prince, Mr Agbavor Lord Percivals and Mr Ackuaku Edem are contesting for Vice Chairman.
For Secretary, Mr Francis Dotsey Bedzo and Mr Agordzetor Daniel filed their nominations, while Mr Thomas Yao Atidepe, Mr Atsu Haggai Ganyo and Mr Nasser Edem are contesting for Deputy Secretary.
Mr Isaac Kofi Attivor and Mr Agbelorbu Mensah Samuel are contesting for Organiser, while Mr Kudoto Victus, Mr Ahiatsi Wisdom and Mr Hagble Stephen Blewunyo filed for Deputy Organiser.
Mr Gidi Daniel is the sole aspirant for Treasurer, while Mr Azumah Vincent and Mr Akpabli Wisdom are contesting for Deputy Treasurer.
For Communication Officer, Mr Avege Edem Unity and Mr Tagbor Moses filed their nominations, while Mr Gbede Japhet Festus and Mr Jonathan Dorkenoo are contesting for Deputy Communication Officer.
Mr Ackuaku Selasi is the sole aspirant for Youth Organiser, with Mr Ativor Selorm Bestine and Mr Kportufe Victus contesting for Deputy Youth Organiser.
Three aspirants, Mr Nudzor Moses Prince, Mr Senyaglo Eric Kwame and Mr Aho Genuine Mawufeasi filed for the Other Youth Representative position.
The Women Organiser position has two aspirants, Ms Agozie Patience and Ms Kaledzi Rita Lebene, while Ms Klutsey Catherine and Ms Adrakey Sarrah Nayram are contesting for Deputy Women Organiser.
For Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Mr Kludzi Richard Godsway and Mr Bubey Omaru filed their nominations.
The directorate also listed 20 aspirants under the category of “Eight Other Members,” including Mr Dey John Coffie, Ms Adamah Salome, Mr Gbologah Christopher, Mr Dorkenoo Reuben, Mr Agbobli Felix Atsu, Mr Sorkpa Yesutor, Mr Gokah Prince Justice, and Mr Tameklo Elikplim
The rest are Ms Dzakpasu Beauty, Mr Amekuedi John, Mr Agbo Jerry Etsey Yaw, Mr Attivor Makafui, Ms Dorvlo Benedicta, Mr Dzebu Doe, Mr Hude Nathan, Mr Biedo Kennedy, Mr Agudzemega Hillary Dogbeda, Ms Gadasu Diana, Mr Ativor Louis Mensah and Mr Davor Stanley Coffie.
The vetting of aspirants across the constituencies would commence today, Friday, September 25, and end on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
The appeals process is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, to Thursday, October 1.
The constituency elections are scheduled to take place from Saturday, October 24, to Sunday, October 25.
The constituency election directorate said the nomination process marked another step towards the conduct of the constituency elections.
