Abesim, (Bono), Sept. 21, GNA-Dr Kwasi Nyame Baafi, an aspiring parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sunyani East Constituency in the Election 2028 has presented a brand-new power plant (generator) to the Abesim Health Centre in the Sunyani Municipality.
He explained that the gesture was his widow’s mite in ensuring that the facility had regular stable electricity supply, amid frequent power outages in parts of the municipality.
In an interview with the media on the sidelines of a ceremony at Abesim, near Sunyani, Dr Baafi, a native Abesim, and a development economist, international trade policy expert, and philanthropist said that quality health enhanced work productivity.
He stressed the need to improve the quality of service to well position the Abesim Health Center to address the emerging health needs of the people.
Dr Baafi pledged his commitment to continue assisting the health center for the people to derive maximum benefit from its services.
Barima Kumi Acheaw III, the Chief of Abesim, also the Kyidomhene (divisional chief) of the Dormaa Traditional Area in the Bono Region said the people would remain grateful to the donor for the gesture and also his enormous contribution towards the development of the town.
He appealed to wealthy Abesim natives, resident homes and abroad to also contribute towards facilitating the development of the area.
Dr Adwoa Pokuaa Awuku, the Acting Head of the Abesim Health Center, thanked the donor for the power plant, saying that the machine would greatly advance quality healthcare delivery service in the area.
