Akatsi (V/R), Sept. 17, GNA – The Atidefe Foundation, in collaboration with Mr John Paul Semavor, has sponsored four brilliant but financially needy students from the Akatsi South Constituency to pursue Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programmes at Kings University College.

The beneficiaries, comprised three males and a female, all from communities within the Akatsi South Constituency.

The sponsorship was aimed at enabling the students to pursue their academic aspirations despite financial constraints.

This followed a pledge made by Mr. Semavor during the fifth Atidefe Foundation’s Free Coconut Seedlings Distribution Project and Youth Empowerment Forum held in Akatsi in July this year.

Mr Semavor, who is contesting the position of Volta Regional Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), pledged to support brilliant but needy students across Volta with the potential and determination to pursue legal education.

The pledge has since been fulfilled with the sponsorship of the four students to undertake their studies at Kings University College, affiliated to the University of Cape Coast and London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom.

Mr Thomas Yao Atidefe, Founder of the Atidefe Foundation and a candidate for the position of Deputy Constituency Secretary of the NDC in the Akatsi South Constituency, said the intervention formed part of efforts to create educational opportunities for young people.

He said the Foundation remained committed to initiatives that promoted education, youth empowerment and human capital development.

Mr Atidefe expressed appreciation to Mr Semavor for fulfilling his pledge and also thanked Torgbuiga Dorglo Anumah VI, Patron of the Foundation and President of the Avenor Traditional Council, as well as members of the Foundation’s Executive Committee, for their support.

He said investing in the education of the four students would give them the opportunity to develop their potential and contribute to national development.

The Atidefe Foundation, established by Mr Atidefe, has undertaken initiatives focusing on education, youth empowerment and community development.

The Foundation said it believed that financial challenges should not prevent brilliant and determined young people from pursuing higher education.
