Accra, Aug. 13, GNA – YFM, in partnership with the Embassy of France in Ghana, is set to launch FrancoVybz, a new podcast series aimed at exploring cultural, creative, educational and business connections between Ghana and the Francophone world.
The 10-episode podcast would serve as a platform for conversation, cultural exchange and discovery, highlighting the ways French and Francophone influences intersect with Ghanaian society and examining France’s contribution to Ghana’s growing creative and business sectors.
The series would feature personalities from Ghana’s creative and cultural industries as well as professionals and experts whose experiences provide insight into the relationship between Ghana and the Francophone world.
Topics to be covered include music, fashion, cinema, theatre, visual arts, technology, video games and digital culture.
The podcast would also explore gastronomy, hospitality, Francophone communities in Ghana, entrepreneurship, employability, business and sports.
The podcast seeks to demonstrate how culture, language, creativity and international collaboration can create opportunities and strengthen ties between Ghana and France.
The podcast would be hosted by award-winning broadcaster Rev. Erskine Amo Whyte, Programmes Manager of YFM Accra, who said the initiative was designed to promote greater understanding of the connections between Ghanaian and French cultures.
“FrancoVybz is about discovering the connections we already have, the influences we sometimes overlook, and the possibilities that emerge when Ghanaian and French cultures meet,” he said.
“We want every episode to offer something educational, enjoyable and thought-provoking. It is insightful, entertaining and a fresh way to engage with these cultural connections.”
The collaboration forms part of YFM’s efforts to create content that reflects the interests and aspirations of young audiences, while expanding discussions beyond entertainment.
Dr. Timothy Karikari, Director of Broadcast at Global Media Alliance, said the initiative aligns with YFM’s commitment to fostering meaningful conversations among young people.
“FrancoVybz gives us an opportunity to explore the cultural, creative and professional connections between Ghana and the Francophone world in a way that resonates with today’s youth,” he said.
“Through this partnership, we are creating a platform for cultural exchange, discovery and opportunity, while reinforcing YFM’s role as a leading voice in youth and urban culture in Ghana.”
FrancoVybz would air on YFM every Saturday at 1530 hours beginning August 15, 2026, with repeat broadcasts on Wednesdays at 2200 hours.
The podcast would also be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Audiomack under the name FrancoVybz, while video versions of the episodes will be accessible on YouTube.
