Accra, Aug. 31, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama on Sunday returned home from Luanda, Angola, where he participated in the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of African Union Heads of State and Government.
The One Summit focused on strengthening conflict prevention and resolution mechanisms across the continent.
The High-level Summit was led by President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço of Angola and the AU Champion for Peace and Reconciliation in Africa.
The Summit’s primary agenda was to consider and adopt a comprehensive Decision, Action Plan, and Implementation Matrix on Conflict Prevention and Resolution for the continent.
The President was accompanied to the summit by Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister for Foreign Affairs; Mr Stan Xoese Dogbe, the Deputy Chief of Staff in-charge of Operations at the Presidency, and Colonel Larry Gbevlo-Lartey (Rtd), Special Envoy to the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
