Bolgatanga, Aug. 31, GNA – The Builsa Traditional Council, led by its Overlord, Nab Azagsuk Azantilow, has congratulated Mr James Agalga, the Member of Parliament for Builsa North on his appointment as the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business of the 9th Parliament.
Mr Agalga formally took over as Majority and Leader of Government Business last week from Mr Mahama Ayariga, the MP for Bawku Central after the latter was appointed by President John Dramani Mahama to head the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
In a statement, signed by Nab Azantilow, the Council said the elevation was not merely a personal triumph, but reflected the confidence his party and the nation had placed him his leadership, experience and unwavering commitment to the service of the people.
“The Builsa Traditional Council is profoundly gratified that one of our own now occupies this eminent position at the very heart of our nation’s governance,” the statement said.
The statement assured the new Majority Leader of the support of the Council.
“He carries with him the blessings, goodwill and protection of our ancestors as he discharges his weighty responsibility. The Council shall continue to offer its counsel, prayers and collective support in all his endeavours,” it added.
The statement, however, admonished the new Majority Leader to recognise that his portfolio was with sacred duty, advising to work tirelessly with humility and diligence to justify the immense trust reposed in him by his party, the National Democratic Congress and the people of Ghana.
“Once again, the Builsa Traditional Council offer its heartfelt congratulations. May the wisdom of our forebears guide his steps, and may his tenure be fruitful,” it added.
