Goaso (Ahafo), Aug. 17, GNA – Nana Eric Antwi, the Ahafo Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged the commitment of the newly elected regional executives to pursue an open-door administration that will involve every party member in regional activities ahead of the 2028 general election.
He said the NPP could not afford to lose the 2028 polls and expressed the determination of the new leadership to draw on the experience and expertise of all party members, particularly candidates who were unsuccessful in the recently held regional elections.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Goaso, Nana Antwi, who retained his position as Regional Secretary, said the executives would re-strategise and work towards reclaiming the three parliamentary seats the party lost in the 2024 general election.
He said his re-election, with 102 out of the 157 valid votes cast, had motivated him to work harder to strengthen the party and improve its prospects in the next general election.
In a separate interview, Professor Emmanuel Opoku Marfo, the newly elected First Vice Chairman of the Ahafo Regional NPP, called on party supporters and members to put aside their differences and unite in the supreme interest of the party.
He urged candidates who lost in the regional elections to accept the outcome in good faith and support the efforts of the new regional leadership.
“We need your political experiences and ideas, and we expect everybody to come on board and to advance the course of our party and to win the 2028 General Election,” Prof Marfo advised.
He emphasised that unity, inclusiveness, and collective effort would be critical to rebuilding the party’s strength and enhancing its chances in future elections.
