Constituency, regional executives remain pillars of NPP’s 2028 victory hopes – Elder

Odomase (Bono), Aug. 17, GNA – Mr Yaw Dabie Appiah Mensah, a senior member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bono Region, has reminded the party’s newly elected constituency and regional executives that they remain key to the NPP’s quest to regain political power in the 2028 general election.

Describing them as grassroots leaders, Mr Mensah, a member of the Bono Regional Council of Elders of the NPP, urged them to conduct themselves responsibly and avoid actions that could undermine the party’s attractiveness and credibility at the grassroots level.

He said the conduct and behaviour of the executives could either enhance or tarnish the image and popularity of former Vice-President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate for Election 2028.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Odomase in the Sunyani West Constituency, Mr Mensah, 75, and a former Brong-Ahafo Regional Organiser of the NPP, advised the executives to remain disciplined and exhibit a high sense of political maturity and civility.

Congratulating them on their election, he said their assumption of office came with enormous responsibilities towards rebuilding the party into a formidable political force ahead of the 2028 polls.

Mr Mensah urged them to place the interests of the NPP and Dr Bawumia above all other considerations.

“The battle ahead of us in 2028 must strengthen and inspire us to build a more resilient front,” he said.

“Bringing the NPP back to political power in the Election 2028 is the only way you can justify the confidence our party has reposed in you guys,” he added.

Mr Mensah also encouraged the executives to promote unity within the party by bringing everybody on board and working collectively to identify and address emerging challenges.

He emphasised that operating an open-door administration would create a sense of ownership among party faithful, enabling them to contribute meaningfully towards strengthening party activities ahead of the 2028 general election.
