Chinderi (O/R), Aug 7, GNA – Mr Solomon Kuyon, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Krachi Nchumuru Constituency, has donated 150 dual desks and four brand-new 150cc ZAPEL motorbikes to the Krachi Nchumuru District Education Directorate.
The donation is expected to ease the shortage of classroom furniture in several basic schools while strengthening monitoring and supervision across the district’s education sector.
Presenting the items at Chinderi, the MP said education remained one of the most effective tools for transforming communities and creating opportunities for the younger generation, stressing that no child should be denied quality education because of inadequate infrastructure and logistics.
He explained that the 150 dual desks would be distributed to selected Basic Schools experiencing severe furniture shortages, enabling more pupils to study in a conducive environment.
Mr Kuyon noted that the four motorbikes donated to the School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs), would significantly improve their mobility, especially to schools located in hard-to-reach communities.
He said the motorbikes would facilitate regular school inspections, monitoring of teaching and learning activities, mentorship of teachers and prompt response to challenges confronting schools.
The MP urged education officers to ensure that the logistics were properly maintained and used solely for their intended purposes to maximise their impact on educational outcomes.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Directorate, education officials expressed profound appreciation to the MP for what they described as a timely intervention.
Madam Gloria Ahorgah, the Krachi Nchumuru Director of Education, noted that inadequate furniture and transportation had remained major challenges affecting effective teaching, learning and supervision in many schools across the district.
She said the dual desks would help reduce overcrowding in classrooms and create a more comfortable learning environment for pupils, while the motorbikes would enable School Improvement Support Officers to undertake regular field visits and provide continuous professional support to teachers.
The officials assured the MP that the items would be carefully managed and maintained to ensure their long-term benefit to schools and pupils throughout the district.
Traditional authorities and residents in the beneficiary communities commended the MP for his sustained commitment to improving healthcare and education, describing the interventions as practical responses to the developmental needs of the constituency.
At Grubi, chiefs and residents accorded the MP and his entourage a colourful traditional welcome in appreciation of his continued support for community development.
Similar receptions were held at Wonando, Borae No. 2 and the Krachi Nchumuru District Education Directorate in Chinderi.
Mr Kuyon was accompanied by constituency executives led by the Constituency Chairman, Nana Mambo, opinion leaders and supporters, who joined him throughout the donation exercise.
