Aflao (VR) Aug 07, GNA – Mr David Doe Kwashie, the Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Constituency, has announced his intention to contest the position of Constituency Communications Officer in the party’s upcoming internal elections.
Mr Kwashie, who has served as Deputy Communications Officer for the past eight years, said his decision was informed by his desire to contribute to strengthening the party’s communication structures and improving engagement with members and the public.
He said his campaign, being run on the theme, “Time for the Next Level,” would focus on enhancing strategic communication, promoting grassroots’ participation and adopting innovative approaches to project the party’s activities and policies.
“Effective communication remained critical to the growth of the party, and I am calling for greater coordination in communicating the NDC’s programmes and achievements,” he said.
He explained that the communication within the party in the area must be proactive, united, innovative and people-centered, and every achievement, every policy and every vision of the NDC reaching every community and every voter.
Mr Kwashie noted that his experience in media relations, grassroots mobilisation, political advocacy, digital communication and campaign coordination had equipped him with the knowledge to serve in the position if given the mandate by delegates.
He said: “Yes, I know the contest for the Constituency Communications Officer position is going to be one of the keenly contested races in the Ketu South NDC internal elections as delegates prepare to elect new constituency executives and I believe I will win.”
Mr Kwashie expressed optimism about his chances and pledged to work with all stakeholders to strengthen the party’s communication strategy and promote unity within the constituency should he be elected.
Some party members who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, including Mr Gakpo Johnson, expressed confidence in the leadership abilities of Mr Kwashie, citing his years of service and contribution to the constituency’s communication activities.
He said the experience Mr Kwashie gathered within the communications team over the years had given him a good understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the party’s communication machinery in the constituency.
