The connection between bay laurel and success has ancient origins. In ancient Greece and Rome, in fact, the leaves were woven into wreaths given to poets and athletes, transforming it into a symbol of glory.
Even today, this plant is associated with luck and new achievements, so much so that it is a protagonist of graduation wreaths .
According to those who follow this social trend, the phone represents the object that accompanies every moment of the day. Therefore, keeping a bay leaf between the smartphone and the cover would have a symbolic value: constantly remembering one’s goals and never forgetting the motivation.
There are also those who write a wish directly on the leaf before inserting it to reinforce the symbolic gesture.
From a scientific point of view, however, there is no evidence to support this. Psychologists, however, highlight that personal rituals can have benefits for mental well-being, helping to reduce stress and increase motivation.
