Dzodze (V/R), Aug. 11, GNA – Mr Eric Edem Agbana, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu North, has launched a two-day workshop for branch executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency to strengthen grassroots structures.
The workshop would also equip the participants to sharpen their skill to improve mobilisation and enhance the party’s organisational capacity ahead of future elections.
The workshop is being held from Monday, August 10 to Tuesday, August 11, 2026, and brings together branch executives from various wards across the constituency.
The initiative seeks to equip executives with relevant knowledge, leadership skills and organisational tools to improve communication, community engagement and mobilisation at the grassroots level.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Agbana said the exercise began in the Dzodze Zone with an orientation and empowerment programme for branch executives.
He said: “Today, we commenced the orientation and empowerment of our Branch Executives, beginning with the Dzodze Zone. The branches are the foundation of our great party. It is therefore important that we equip and empower our leaders at that level with the knowledge, skills and support needed for the task ahead.”
He said the NDC in Ketu North was determined to improve the 87 per cent of votes it secured in the constituency during the 2024 general election.
Mr Agbana said achieving that objective would require sustained performance, strong engagement with constituents and effective grassroots party machinery.
As part of the second day’s outreach activities, Mr Agbana and his team were also scheduled to engage traders and community members at the Dzodze Market and Weta Market.
The MP said the workshop formed part of his broader efforts to strengthen the relationship between the party’s grassroots structures and constituents while ensuring that branch executives were adequately prepared to perform their responsibilities.
He urged all branch executives in the participating wards to take the engagement seriously and use the opportunity to deepen collaboration and communication within their respective communities.
Mr Agbana expressed confidence that a stronger and more effective grassroots structure, coupled with development-oriented representation, would help the NDC consolidate its support and improve its electoral performance in Ketu North.
