US searches for aviator after helicopter goes down in Arabian Sea

Washington, July 2, (dpa/GNA) – The US Navy is searching for a missing aviator, after a military helicopter made an emergency water landing in the Arabian Sea on Wednesday, the US military said.

US Central Command said there was no indication that hostile action had caused the incident, involving the MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter.

One of the helicopter’s four crew members remains missing, while the other three were rescued and are in stable condition aboard the USS George HW Bush.

The aircraft carrier was deployed to the region during the war with Iran. The cause of the incident is under investigation, the US military said.
