Aflao (V/R), July 9, GNA — Torgbui Tenuvi II, Youth Development Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area and a philanthropist, has unveiled a five-year education development plan to improve access to basic education and upgrade school infrastructure in the municipality.
The plan, announced with the approval of Torgbuiga Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, President of the Aflao Traditional Council, will see the establishment of five new basic schools in Apekotuime, Gakli, Wudoaba, Detokope and Avoeme.
Torgbui Tenuvi said the initiative was aimed at easing congestion in existing schools and expanding access to education in underserved communities.
He said the plan would also include the rehabilitation of selected school facilities across the Municipality.
The Development Chief called for community support towards the implementation of the initiative and urged government to complement such efforts.
Torgbui Tenuvi has previously supported education in the area through interventions, including assistance to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates and support for school infrastructure.
Mr Felix Akakpo Akonta was installed as Development Chief with the name Torgbui Tenuvi II in recognition of his contributions to community development.
