Tema, July 14, GNA — TDC Ghana Limited has donated a 16-seater operational bus, a four-year monthly fuel package, cash and assorted food items to the Nungua Traditional Council to improve its operational efficiency.
Mr Courage Nunukpeku, the Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, said the donation formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and was intended to strengthen its relationship with the Traditional Council.
Mr Nunekpeku said the company responded to the council’s transportation challenges, which often affected its ability to undertake official assignments.
“The constant request for transport hinders their ability to travel whenever necessary. We decided that as part of our corporate social responsibility, why not help them with mobility? he asked.
The TDC MD said the company regarded the traditional council as an important stakeholder and would continue to collaborate with it to support development within the area.
eceiving the items, Nii Okple Dzalesane, the Nungua Oblantai Mantse and Kyidomhene, thanked TDC for the gesture.
He said the council had previously relied largely on the personal vehicles of traditional leaders to attend official programmes and emergency assignments.
“This donation by the TDC is going to enhance our operational duties very effectively. Anytime there is a programme, the council can now rely on this bus, and it is going to be of immense help to us,” he said.
