BAYA announces 2026 national congress for September in Kpandai

Dambai (O/R) July 14, GNA- The Bassare Youth Association (BAYA) has announced that its 2026 National Congress will be held in September at Kpandai in the Northern Region. 

The four-day congress will be held under the theme: “One People. One Heritage. One Future.” 

A statement signed by Mr Toni J.C. Bakawu, the General Secretary of the Association, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the event would bring together Bassare chiefs, elders, youth, women, professionals, students, sons and daughters of Bassare living in Ghana and the Diaspora to deliberate on issues affecting the welfare and development of the people. 

According to the statement, the congress is intended to strengthen ties among Bassare communities, promote unity and celebrate the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the people. 

It said the gathering would also provide a platform for participants to discuss strategies for sustainable community development, inspire the next generation of leaders and build a shared vision for the future of Bassare communities. 

The statement noted that the congress reflects BAYA’s commitment to promoting peace, unity, and inclusive development in line with the association’s motto, “Standing Up in Unity for Development.” 

It added that the programme of activities for the congress would be announced in due course. 

The association encouraged all Bassare citizens, friends and well-wishers to participate in the congress to support efforts aimed at fostering unity and advancing the socio-economic development of the Bassare people.
