NPP Elections: 1021 delegates to elect Krachi East Constituency executives

By Kingsley Mamore, GNA

Dambai (O/R), July 6, GNA – A total of 1,021 delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Krachi East Constituency are expected to go to the polls on Saturday to elect constituency executives who will steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.

The delegates, comprising polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, constituency officers, patrons and other recognised members of the party’s electoral college, will determine whether to renew the mandate of the incumbent executives or elect a new team to lead the party.

The constituency election forms part of the NPP’s nationwide internal reorganisation exercise aimed at strengthening party structures and repositioning the party ahead of future political contests, particularly the 2028 general election.

Mr Charles Gyamfi Boateng, who served under the administration of former president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that preparations for the election have been completed.

Also, measures have been put in place to ensure a peaceful, transparent and credible exercise in accordance with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.

He described the election as significant for the constituency, noting that the executives elected will play a critical role in grassroots mobilisation, membership drive, conflict resolution and the implementation of strategies intended to consolidate the party’s support base in Krachi East.

Mr Boateng urged party faithful and delegates to conduct themselves peacefully and uphold the principles of unity, discipline and democratic participation before, during and after the election.

The outcome of Saturday’s polls is expected to shape the direction of the NPP in the Krachi East Constituency over the next four years and lay the foundation for the party’s preparations towards future national elections.
