‎The decision followed a four-day vetting exercise from August 31 to September 3 to determine the eligibility of aspirants seeking election to nine national executive positions.‎

‎A statement signed by Mr Frederick Opare-Ansah, Chairman of the NPP National Officers’ Elections Committee, said all 47 aspirants who appeared before the Vetting Committee had satisfied the requirements to contest the elections.‎

‎The positions are National Chairperson, Vice Chairpersons, General Secretary, National Treasurer, National Organiser, National Women’s Organiser, National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser and National Communications Director.‎

‎The NPP has scheduled October 3, 2026, for the elections in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.‎

‎The elections will be organised by the party’s National Elections Committee under the supervision of the Electoral Commission.‎

‎The exercise is expected to produce a new team of national officers as the NPP reorganises ahead of the 2028 general election.

‎The party is also scheduled to hold a joint meeting of its National Executive Committee and National Council on September 10, with the notice of poll expected to be published on September 14.‎

‎The electoral college comprises members of the National Council, National Executive Committee, Regional Executive Committees, Constituency Executive Committees and External Branch Executive Committees.
