Kumasi July 10, GNA – Mr Kwadwo Owusu Bempah, an aspirant to the Nhyiaso NPP constituency chairmanship position, has handed over an ultra-modern ICT centre, a mechanised borehole and a canteen shed to the Atasemanso M/A Junior High School.
The project, which was fully funded by Mr Owusu Bempah, was in honour of the late former Nhyiaso constituency chairman, Mr George Kofi Adjei, popularly known as GEOKAD.
The handing over ceremony was attended by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, traditional leaders, clergy, party executives, residents, teachers, pupils and party faithful.
Mr Owusu Bempah speaking at the ceremony, said the ICT Centre had the capacity to accommodate about 40 pupils at a time, providing them with a conducive environment to acquire practical knowledge and skills in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
He explained that the mechanised borehole would provide a reliable source of clean water for both the school and the surrounding community, while the canteen shed would improve the welfare of the pupils by creating a more comfortable space for feeding.
Mr Owusu Bempah urged the school authorities, teachers and pupils to maintain the facilities properly to ensure they serve future generations.
He also encouraged the pupils to make the best use of the ICT Centre to enhance their digital literacy and prepare themselves for opportunities in the modern technological world.
According to him, the projects, reflected his commitment to supporting quality education and preserving the legacy of the late GEOKAD, whom he described as a dedicated, selfless and hardworking leader, whose contributions greatly strengthened the NPP in the Nhyiaso constituency.
Mr Owusu Bempah, appealed to delegates of the NPP in the Nhyiaso constituency to vote for him in the constituency elections scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2026.
He said his record of community service and commitment to the party demonstrated his readiness to lead the constituency, adding that, he would continue to champion development initiatives and strengthen the party’s structures if elected as the next Constituency Chairman.
Nana Ofori Nyarko, the Gyaasehene of Atasemanso, who represented Nana Owusu Barima III, the Chief of Atasemanso, commended Mr Owusu Bempah for his generosity and dedication to educational development.
He described the projects as a major boost to teaching and learning at the school and urged the management, staff and pupils to maintain the facilities properly so they would continue to serve their intended purpose for many years.
