Techiman, (Bono East), July 14, GNA-Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Techiman South Constituency of the Bono East Region has retained Mr Muniru Tanko as the constituency chairman of the party.
Mr Muniru polled 1,124 valid votes to defeat his keen challenger Mr Yussif Kromo Seidu, who had 937 valid votes in an election conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission at Techiman.
Mr Moro Effah was elected the First Vice Chair, Mr Amadu Bermah, Treasurer, Mr Ali Sule, Organiser, and Mr Anthony Aboagye, Youth organiser by a popular acclamation.
At the close of nominations, they were the sole candidates who filed to contest the election.
The delegates also elected Mr Rexford Kudom Antwi as the Second Chair polling 1,536 valid votes to beat his two other contenders, Mr Ibrahim Mohammed Tanko and Mr Yakubu Mubarak who secured 132 votes and 393 votes respectively.
Mr Richard Asamoah also obtained 1,084 valid votes to pick the secretary position defeating his only contender, Mr Isaac Frimpong who had 975 valid votes.
For Assistant secretary, Mr Albert A Bariyona had 808 valid votes to secure the position beating Mr Kwame Yeboah, 401 valid votes, Mr Lukman Salifu, 392 valid votes and Mr Michael Adane Kwarteng, 446 valid votes.
Nana Akosua Sakyiwaa Nsiah picked the women’s organiser position with 1,111 valid votes, defeating her contender, Ajara Mohammed Maada, who had 942 votes.
The Nasara Coordinator position went to Mr Sina Abdul Raman, who had 659 valid votes to beat Mr Jibrin Daud, 627 of valid votes, Mr Ib]rahim Osman Ayariga, 545 valid votes, and Adams Abdulai 227 valid votes.
Mr Mohammed Mukaram Abdallah also secured the Communication officer position of the party with 714 valid votes to beat Mr Kwarteng Jona, 533 valid votes, Mr Amaniampong Attakorah, 478 valid votes, and Mr Clement Nketiah 333 valid votes.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Tanko, the newly elected constituency chairman, pledged to strengthen unity within the party, urging the supporters and members of the party to bury their differences and work hard towards recapturing political power in the 2028 general election.
He commended the EC for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the election, describing the outcome of polls as credible.
