Ketu South MP presents relief items to flood victims

Gakli (V/R), July 13, GNA – Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu South and Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has presented relief items to residents of Gakli community affected by the recent flooding in the municipality. 

The donation follows a tour by the MP to assess the extent of damage caused by the heavy rains that left several communities inundated. 

Items presented included five wheelbarrows, five shovels, five rakes, 15 pairs of Wellington boots, 33 bags of rice, and 13 cartons of cooking oil. 

The items were received by the Assembly Member for the area on behalf of the community. 

Madam Gomashie, accompanied by Mr Nicholas Ezo Worclachie, the Municipal Chief Executive, assured residents that the intervention formed part of an ongoing relief effort. 

She said other affected communities across the constituency would receive support in the coming weeks. 

The MP expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for his continuous support to the constituency, particularly during previous tidal waves, the Volta River Authority (VRA) spillage and the current flooding situation. 

She reiterated her commitment, together with the Municipal Assembly, to supporting affected residents and ensuring timely assistance during emergencies. 

Residents expressed gratitude for the support, describing it as timely in helping them cope with the impact of the floods.
