Bechem (Bono), June 29, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, the Tano South Municipal Chief Executive in the Ahafo Region, says the Assembly has received 15,000 bags of fertilizers to be distributed to farmers across the Municipality.
He said the government provided the fertilizers as part of efforts to boost agricultural production and support food security.
In an interview with the media at Bechem, the Municipal capital, Mr Frimpong explained the government commitment to support farmers, saying that the fertilizers were evidence that the President John Dramani Mahama’s government remained determined to fulfil its Election 2024 campaign promises.
He said that the Municipal Directorate of Agriculture would commence the distribution of the agro-chemicals soon, urging the distributors to do that devoid of partisan considerations to benefit deserving farmers.
Mr Frimpong said he was highly optimistic that the fertilizers would greatly improve crop yields and strengthen the agricultural sector in the area.
He expressed appreciation to the government for the provision and urged the beneficiaries to utilise them for the intended purposes.
Mr Paul Addei, the Tano South Municipal Director of Agriculture, pledged to ensure that the fertilizers were distributed fairly to the farmers across the municipality.
