Accra, June 29, GNA – The Presidency on Monday, urged all residents in flood affected areas, to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to safety advisories as heavy rainfall continues to cause flooding in parts of the country.
“Stay indoors if you are in a safe location. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads, whether on foot or in a vehicle. If your home is being inundated, move immediately to higher ground and call 112 for emergency assistance,” the Presidency said in a statement.
“Motorists are advised to avoid flooded routes, including the Mallam–Kasoa, Alajo and Graphic Roads. Turn around if you encounter floodwaters and seek a safe, elevated location.”
It also advised the public to unplug electrical appliances and stay away from electric poles, transformers and fallen power lines.
“Your safety is paramount. Please follow official updates and emergency directives,” the statement said.
