Dambai (O/R), June 25, GNA – Mr Isaac Kaliwa, an aspirant for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Krachi East Constituency Secretary position, says the office requires administrative precision, political discretion and strategic diplomacy to ensure effective party organisation, coordination and cohesion.
Mr Kaliwa, who is seeking to move from his current role as Assistant Secretary to become the substantive Constituency Secretary, made the remarks in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) ahead of the party’s constituency executive elections.
He described the secretaryship as one of the most critical offices within the party structure, noting that effective constituency administration largely depends on the secretary’s ability to maintain accurate records, safeguard sensitive information and coordinate activities efficiently.
“The office of Secretary is central to the party’s operations. It requires precision in administration, discretion in handling party matters and diplomacy in managing relations within and outside the party,” he said.
Mr Kaliwa stated that his tenure as Assistant Secretary had equipped him with valuable experience and practical knowledge of the administrative responsibilities associated with the office.
According to him, the role extends beyond record-keeping to encompass effective communication, stakeholder engagement and ensuring that decisions taken by the party are properly documented and implemented.
He pledged that, if elected, he would work to strengthen internal communication systems, improve documentation processes and facilitate the timely coordination of party activities across all branches within the constituency.
The aspirant further emphasised the importance of unity, mutual respect and effective collaboration among party executives and members as key factors in positioning the party for future electoral success.
“I believe the secretary’s office should serve as a bridge that promotes understanding and cooperation among party members while ensuring that administrative processes are transparent, efficient and responsive to the needs of the party,” he stated.
Mr Kaliwa appealed to delegates to consider competence, commitment and experience when electing the next constituency executives, stressing that effective leadership was essential to building a stronger and better-organised party.
The NDC is preparing to elect new executives across 276 constituencies in accordance with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.
