Manso Adubia (Ash), June 30, GNA-Mr Peter Awere, an aspirant of the Treasurer position of the Manso Adubia constituency of the NPP, has stressed the need for unity and effective mobilization of the youth for the party.
His vision as a contestant for the Treasurer position was to strengthen the party through improved financial discipline, unity among members, and increased youth mobilization, ahead of the upcoming constituency executive elections.
Mr Awere, who is also the Presiding Member of the Amansie South District Assembly, told journalists after successfully completing the vetting process that, he would promote regular payment of party dues among executives and members.
He described financial commitment as a critical foundation for sustaining party activities at the grassroots level and said a party with a strong financial structure was better positioned to organise effective programmes, mobilise supporters and respond to the needs of its members.
“Payment of dues is a responsibility every committed party member must take seriously.
I will work to ensure that our executives understand the importance of dues payment because it plays a vital role in supporting the activities and growth of the party,” he stated.
The Treasurer aspirant also expressed concern about the gradual reduction in the party’s electoral performance over the years, noting that there was a need for strategic interventions to rebuild the party’s strength and reconnect with the grassroots.
He recalled that the party’s performance during the 2012 and 2016 elections demonstrated strong support from the people but indicated that the decline in votes in subsequent elections required collective efforts to reverse the trend.
Mr Awere stressed the need for aggressive youth mobilisation, describing young people as an important asset and the future of the New Patriotic Party.
He pledged to work with party executives, leaders, and stakeholders to encourage more young people to participate actively in party activities and contribute towards achieving victory in the 2028 general elections.
“The youth are the backbone of every political organisation.
We must create an environment where they feel valued, engaged and motivated to work for the progress of the party,” he said.
He also called for unity among party members before, during and after the constituency elections, emphasising that internal contests should strengthen the party rather than create divisions.
He urged all aspirants and their supporters to conduct themselves with respect, tolerance and discipline throughout the electoral process, adding that the ultimate objective was to build a united NPP capable of winning future elections.
“After the constituency elections, we must come together as one party and work towards our common goal.
Our strength lies in our unity, and together we can build a stronger NPP in Manso Adubia and beyond,” he added.
Mr Awere assured delegates of his commitment to providing transparent, accountable and dedicated leadership if given the mandate to serve as Constituency Treasurer.
He expressed confidence that with collective commitment, effective organisation and renewed grassroots engagement, the party could regain its electoral strength and successfully prepare for the 2028 general elections.
