NCDS delegation visits Ho West to study national cohesion

Dzolokpuita, June 19, GNA – A delegation from the National College of Defence Studies (NCDS) has visited the Ho West District Assembly as part of a field research exercise on national cohesion, security and sustainable development.  

The three-member delegation, led by Col. A. Godwin Azer and comprising AC Winifred Odoi and Group Capt Y. Lartey-Ayeh, visited the district on June 17, 2026, to gather information and local perspectives on issues relating to national unity and development.  

The exercise forms part of the College’s field studies designed to assess the role of national cohesion in promoting peace, security and sustainable development across communities.  

Welcoming the team, Mr Francis Dusey, District Chief Executive for Ho West, expressed appreciation to the delegation for selecting the district for the study and assured them of the Assembly’s full cooperation.  

He reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to fostering peace, security and inclusive development, stressing that collaboration among stakeholders remained critical to achieving sustainable progress within the district.  

The delegation engaged officials of the Assembly in a structured dialogue on governance, social cohesion, security and development planning.  

Discussions also focused on measures being implemented by the Assembly to address developmental challenges, strengthen community participation, and improve the well-being of residents.  

As part of the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Togbe Fiado VI, Chief of Dzolokpuita, where issues relating to national cohesion, traditional leadership, security, and sustainable development were discussed.  

The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to gain firsthand knowledge of governance and development initiatives in the district while strengthening collaboration between the National College of Defence Studies and the Ho West District Assembly.
