MCE rallies effective stakeholder collaboration to stem youth substance abuse

Amantin, (Bono East) June 03, GNA- Mr Thomas Musah Ayarba, the Atebubu/Amantin Municipal Chief Executive, has expressed concern about the surge in youth substance abuse in the municipality.

He regretted that youth substance was fueling the crime wave in the area and urged those indulged in illicit drug use to refrain from that unhealthy practice.

Mr Ayarba also urged effective stakeholder collaboration to bring the situation under control.
“Our young people remain our greatest asset, and together we must create environments that nurture responsibility, discipline and progress”, he advised, when speaking at the coronation of Bisa Sarkin Samari as the Nkosuohene (sub-chief) of the Amantin Traditional Area in the municipality.

Mr Ayarba encouraged the newly enstooled sub-chief and the community members to prioritise peace and live peaceably and harmoniously.
He said peace remained pre-requisite for development, noting that without peaceful co-existence the development of Amantin in particular and the municipality in general could not be brought to the next level.
Mr Ayarba later gave an undisclosed sum of money to the traditional leaders in the area.

He urged them to support the development of the municipality.
