Accra, June 24, GNA – Madam Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, Member of Parliament (MP) for the La Dade-Kotopon , has toured selected electoral areas in the constituency to inspect ongoing community development projects and hand over support items to residents.

The tour covered the Mantease-Chadu, Kowe-Aese-Abafum, and Adienbra electoral areas. It also provided an opportunity for the MP to engage with residents and assess their pressing needs.

At Mantease-Chadu, Madam Sowah commissioned and handed over two newly constructed footbridges to facilitate safe movement within the community.

The bridges replaced old wooden structures that posed safety risks, particularly to school children. She also provided streetlights to improve security and visibility in the area.

At Kowe-Aese-Abafum, where recurrent flooding affects homes during heavy rains, the MP donated two water pumping machines to help residents drain floodwaters.

In addition, she supported a local food vendor with bags of rice and cooking oil as part of an initiative aimed at empowering small-scale food sellers.

The tour continued to Adienbra, where Madam Sowah donated a 1,000-litre poly tank to improve access to water during periods of shortage. She also provided streetlights to enhance security in the community.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Madam Sowah said the interventions were designed to address the specific needs of each electoral area and improve the living conditions of residents.

She noted that similar development projects had been undertaken in other parts of the constituency, including the construction of wastewater pipelines in the La Township to improve sanitation and environmental conditions.

The MP further disclosed that she had donated two air conditioners to the La Police Station through the District Assemblies Common Fund to support the work of officers. Following concerns raised about a leaking roof at the station, she pledged to collaborate with the Municipal Chief Executive to repair it.

Madam Sowah reaffirmed her commitment to maintaining close contact with constituents through regular community visits, health screening exercises, and development initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the people of La Dade-Kotopon.

Some residents who interacted with the MP cited poor state of the roads and drainage challenges as key issues affecting their communities and appealed for further government intervention.
