Accra, June 24, GNA – Three former students of Hohoe E.P. Senior High School are assisting police investigations into alleged damage to school property captured in a viral video, police said.
The suspects, Rashid Suraj Dapko, 19, Alhassan Mohammed, 20, and Abdul Kadri Abdulai, 20, were arrested by the Volta North Regional Police Command.
A statement issued by Inspector Felix Kwao, Public Relations Officer of the Command, said school authorities reported the incident on June 19, 2026, after a video emerged showing former students allegedly damaging a water pipeline after completing their final examinations.
“The Volta North Regional Police command has arrested three (3) immediate past students of the Hohoe E. P Senior High School sighted in a viral video for destroying school properties after completion,” the statement said.
Police said intelligence-led surveillance led to the arrest of three suspects.
“Suspects include; Rashid Suraj Dakpo Age 19, Alhassan Mohammed Age 20 and Abdul Kadri Abdulai Age 20,” Inspector Kwao said.
The suspects have been handed over to the Regional Criminal Investigations Department to assist with investigations and will be processed for court.
“The Volta North Regional Police Command has noted that this behavior is becoming increasingly common,” the statement said.
“The Command warns that any student caught engaging in these acts will face the full rigours of the law.”
Police said efforts were underway to arrest other suspects seen in the video.
The Command also urged parents, guardians and teachers to counsel young people on the consequences of such conduct.
