Dambai (O/R), June 17, GNA – Football enthusiasts in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region have appealed to Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars to secure victory against Panama to restore confidence and give Ghanaians cause to celebrate.

The call comes ahead of the Black Stars’ opening Group L match against Panama in the FIFA World Cup 2026, scheduled for Tuesday at 2300 hours.

In  aninterview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the fans said the match presented an opportunity for the team to demonstrate commitment and build momentum for the tournament.

Alhaji Abdul Wahhab, a football enthusiast in Dambai, said the Black Stars remained the pride of the nation and should approach the Panama encounter with discipline, focus and teamwork.

“We are behind the team, but we need a win to celebrate. The players must show passion and be clinical in front of the goal,” he said.

Madam Charity Adwoa Nkrumah, a trader and ardent supporter, noted that consistency had been a challenge for the team in recent times and urged the technical handlers to address tactical shortcomings.

She said a convincing performance against Panama would lift the spirits of supporters and set a positive tone for Ghana in their remaining matches.

Other residents who spoke to the GNA expressed optimism about the chances of the Black Stars but stressed the need for a strong start and improved coordination, particularly in midfield.

They pledged their unwavering support for the team and appealed to Ghanaians to rally behind the Black Stars throughout the tournament.

Ghana will subsequently face England and Croatia in the remaining Group L matches as the Black Stars seek qualification to the knockout stage of the competition.
