Accra, June 17, GNA – Madam Ekua Hawa a Farmer with disability says her motivation for farming has been the good income from her field.
Speaking with Agrihouse Foundationâs Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, she said she raised her seven children with income from farming and processing palm fruits from her own farm into edible oil.
Madam Hawa who said she’s 80 years old, says she is now exhausted after many years of doing farm work.
At the Table with Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa is a public-interest programme produced by Agrihouse Foundation and its sister organisation, AgriWatchGH, in partnership with the World Food Forum Ghana Chapter, as part of activities to commemorate the International Year of the Woman Farmer.
According to the Foundation, the initiative seeks to spotlight the stories, challenges, achievements and contributions of women farmers across Ghana, while creating awareness and mobilising support for their critical role in agriculture and national development.
Agrihouse Foundation has invited individuals, organisations and development partners to support women farmers and the public-interest programme.
