Female occupant rescued after fire gutted one-storey building at Kasoa-Tuba

Accra, June 10, GNA – A female occupant has sustained injuries when she attempted to escape from the first floor of a one storey- building gutted by fire at Kasoa-Tuba near Fulani Junction in the Central Region. 

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in a Facebook post on Wednesday, said the female occupant had been sent to a nearby hospital for medical attention. 

The GNFS said overhaul operations were underway to completely extinguish the remaining hotspots and ensure full safety at the place. 

It said at about 0304 hours, on Wednesday, it received a distress call regarding fire incident on the top floor of the building.  

The GNFS said: “Despite the temporary unavailability of the Kasoa and Weija Fire Tenders, firefighters from the Anyaa Fire Station were promptly dispatched and arrived at 0339 hours. 

It said at 0530 hours the combined efforts of firefighters from Anyaa, Amasaman and Circle Fire Stations had successfully brought the fire under control. 

The GNFS said the female occupant, who sustained injuries after attempting to escape had been sent to a nearby hospital.
