Asanko Gold Ghana supports road improvement in Amansie South District

Manso Adubia (Ash), June 30, GNA – The Amansie South District Assembly, in partnership with Asanko Gold Ghana Limited, has commenced major road reshaping works on the Manso Akwasiso to Manso Nkran route. 

It is part of efforts to improve transportation and promote socio-economic development within the district. 

The rehabilitation exercise, which involves reshaping and rock-filling works, is aimed at restoring the road network, improving accessibility, enhancing the movement of people and goods, and creating a safer and more reliable transportation system for residents and businesses in the beneficiary communities. 

The project forms part of ongoing efforts by the Assembly and its development partners to address critical infrastructure challenges and improve road connectivity across the Amansie South District. 

The Site Manager for Asanko Gold Ghana Limited, Mr. Justice Fenteng, explained that, the rock-filling phase of the project covering the Manso Akwasiso to Koniase Nkran route as well as the Manso Abiram section was expected to be completed within 10 to 14 days. 

According to him, the company remained committed to supporting initiatives that contributed to sustainable development and improved the living conditions of communities within its operational areas. 

Mr Benjamin Marfo, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie South, together with Mr Benjamin Marfo, the Presiding Member of the Assembly and other officials of the assembly had visited the ongoing road project to inspect progress of work. 

The team assessed the progress of the rock-filling activities and expressed satisfaction with the commitment shown by the project partners towards improving road infrastructure. 

Mr Marfo commended the management of Asanko Gold Ghana Limited for responding positively to concerns raised by the Assembly regarding the condition of the road. 

He noted that the collaboration between the Assembly and the mining company demonstrated the importance of partnerships between local authorities and corporate institutions in delivering meaningful development projects for communities. 

The DCE assured residents that the Assembly would continue to work closely with stakeholders to improve infrastructure, enhance economic activities, and create better living conditions for the people of Amansie South. 

Residents and road users have welcomed the intervention, expressing hope that the completion of the project would significantly reduce transportation difficulties and boost economic activities along the route.
