Sunyani, (Bono), June 22, GNA – Apostle Bismarck Siaw, Resident Pastor of the Estate Branch of Living Grace Ministries in the Sunyani Municipality, has urged fathers to live up to their divine role as the source, counsellor, and “priest” of the family.Â
He said the breakdown of responsible fatherhood remained a major cause of societal challenges and called on fathers to make deliberate efforts to fulfil their biblical mandate of building godly homes and, by extension, a sound society.Â
Apostle Siaw gave the advice during a special church service organised to commemorate Father’s Day in Sunyani.Â
He emphasized that: “Every father is the priest of the home with the responsibility of giving spiritual direction,” besides providing the needs of the family.Â
“You can’t outsource this role because your children need your counsel, leadership, and prayers,” he advised.Â
Apostle Siaw explained that the father is a source to every child and counsellors in the family who give directions, urging fathers to strive to provide good leadership and counseling support to the family.Â
He noted that beyond providing shelter, food, and paying utility bills, fathers must be intentional in nurturing and guiding their families with discipline and care.Â
The pastor cautioned that fathers who shirk their responsibilities often end up in regret, fear, and poor outcomes later in life.Â
He also urged children who had problems with their fathers to reconcile with them, urging fathers not to be bitter against their children.Â
“Irresponsible fathers don’t end well in life” he cautioned, and admonished fathers to love their children and take up their biblical responsibilities in order not to invoke curses on themselves.Â
He further cautioned husbands against abusing their wives, emphasising the need for love, respect, and unity within the family.Â
