Rome, June 22 (ITALPRESS/GNA) – ” I don’t believe” that tensions with Donald Trump will have economic consequences: “American consumers love Made in Italy and absolutely don’t want to give it up.”
This is what Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, said in an interview with Quotidiano Nazionale the day after the double round of open confrontation between the US president and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni .
“Last year, our exports to the United States grew by 7.2%, despite the new tariffs. In April, they recorded a further 12.1% increase year-on-year, the best performance among European countries. This result placed us fourth globally, surpassing Japan and South Korea, two Asian giants,” he said.
“Italy is increasingly competitive, growing globally, and attracting the world to Italy because we have a more resilient and dynamic production system than others, and therefore better able to address crises and seize opportunities,” concludes Urso.
