Wenchi, (Bono), May 4, GNA – Alhaji Seidu Haruna, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area have presented 2,440 mathematical sets to candidates writing the 2026 Basic School Certificate Examination (BECE) in the municipality of the Bono Region.
The Ghana News Agency (GNA) gathered that the BECE commenced at the various examination centers in the municipality on Monday May 4, without hitches with a total of 2,433 candidates writing the examination.
In an interview with the media on the sidelines of a presentation ceremony at Wenchi, Alhaji Haruna explained that the mathematical sets were to motivate the candidates to write and pass the BECE.
He urged the candidates to endeavour obey the laid down rules and regulations governing the BECE, cautioning them against the temptation of sending foreign materials like mobile phones into exam halls.
Madam Gloria Opoku Gyamfi, the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive advised the candidates to be disciplined and stay away from all forms of examination malpractices.
She urged them to be confident and remain studious as they wrote the examination, and asked the invigilators and supervisors not to do anything that would scare the candidates.
Mrs Mary Nyarko Adu-Twum, the Wenchi Municipal Director of Education who received the mathematical sets thanked the MP and MCE for their dedication towards the growth of education in the area.
