Three wounded in stabbing attack at Swiss train station: police

GENEVA, May 28 (Xinhua/GNA) — A man stabbed and wounded three people, at Winterthur train station near Zurich on Thursday morning before being arrested, Swiss police said.

“Shortly after 8:30 a.m. (0630 GMT), a man injured three people with a bladed weapon at Winterthur train station,” the Zurich canton’s police said in a statement.

They said the suspect, a 31-year-old Swiss man, was arrested and his motive is “under investigation.”

The three victims, all Swiss, aged 28, 43 and 52, were taken to the hospital, police said.

The area around the station is currently cordoned off, and a large security presence is on site.
