Tema, May 26, GNA — The Tema Greenwich Lions Club has received the prestigious Lions International Marketing Award in recognition of its innovative social media campaign aimed at boosting awareness and membership growth.

The award-winning campaign, dubbed “Answer the Roar,” leveraged various social media platforms to showcase the club’s activities while encouraging prospective members to enquire about joining the organisation.

Selected from hundreds of applicants across the world, the Tema Greenwich Lions Club earned the honour for what organisers described as outstanding marketing innovation and creativity.

Through the campaign, the club successfully increased its membership from 62 to 76 after establishing a new branch comprising 14 additional Lions members.

The club’s Membership Drive campaign recorded 10,247 views and generated 9,687 impressions and comments. Its “Wear It Friday” campaign achieved 19,471 views alongside 9,508 impressions and comments.

Additionally, the club’s International Awareness Day campaign held in observance of World Smile Day attracted 3,089 views and generated 2,134 impressions and comments.

Mr. John Elton Botchway PMJF, GLCF, Marketing Chairperson of the Tema Greenwich Lions Club, said the enhanced visibility achieved through strategic marketing efforts would strengthen the club’s capacity to serve communities more effectively.

“Members gained as a result of increased marketing efforts will allow Lions to meet pressing needs in our community, including youth development programmes, diabetes management and awareness, and environmental cleanliness,” he stated.

He added that increased promotional activities and stronger social media engagement would further raise awareness about Lions International and its global service initiatives.

As part of the recognition, the club also received a cash award of US$2,000 to support future marketing activities and community service projects.

The Tema Greenwich Lions Club currently has 76 members and holds meetings on the first and third Fridays of every month at Waku Hotel in Tema.
