Nungua, May 20, GNA — The 2006-year group of the Queen James School have donated a printer and a laptop computer to support teaching and learning in the school.

The donation formed part of efforts by the old students to give back to the institution that played an important role in their academic and personal development.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr King Cofie Faska, a member of the 2006-year group and organizer of the presentation, said the gesture was meant to show gratitude to the school for nurturing them during their formative years.

Mr Faska said the support was also intended to encourage current students to take their studies seriously, appreciate the value of education, explaining that many former students had achieved success in different fields because of the discipline, guidance and quality education they received at the school.

He said it was therefore important for them to return and contribute to the growth of the institution and noted that educational institutions required continuous support from stakeholders, including alumni, parents and community members, to improve teaching and learning conditions.

He said the donated laptop and printer were expected to assist teachers and administrators in preparing academic materials, managing records and improving communication within the school.

Mr Faska urged other old students to remain connected to their former schools and contribute towards educational development in their communities stating that alumni associations have an important role to play in improving educational standards by providing learning materials, infrastructure and mentorship opportunities for students.

Mr Abu-Bakar Adams, Headmaster, Queen James, receiving the item on behalf of the school, expressed appreciation and gratitude to the 2006 Old Students Association for the generous donation.

He stated that the school least expected such a thoughtful gesture of printers and laptops, adding that the donation would greatly support teaching and learning in the school.

He prayed for Almighty God’s blessings upon all members of the group for their kindness and commitment to the development of the institution.
