Over 400 mothers benefit from Woezor TV’s health screening, NHIA card renewals

Accra, May 11, GNA – Over 400 women have benefitted from a special health screening exercise organised by Accra based Woezor TV as part of the station’s activities marking this year’s Mother’s Day celebrations. 

A statement issued by Woezor TV did the event dubbed the “Mother’s Day Treat,” attracted traders of Abelemkpe Santana Market and residents in nearby communities such as Alajo and New Boi Town who underwent preventive screening for diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, malaria, typhoid, Hepatitis B as well as blood group test, physical examination and counselling.  

It said women not enrolled on the National Health Insurance Scheme were registered for free while beneficiaries with expired cards were assisted to renew their subscriptions. 

It noted that Woezor TV as part of the outreach also presented souvenirs and gifts in appreciation of the contribution of mothers in raising families and the development of the country. 

The statement said the event, which took place from 0800 hours to 1600 hours, was interspersed with music and public education on preventive health care. 

It was supported by the National Health Insurance Authority, (NHIA), the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, EventPR, Twellium Ghana ltd, Total House Clinic, the Garnet Medical Centre, A1 Bread and Bakery, C-MatiVents Company Limited, and Vision Creative Company Limited.
