Apremdo (W/R), May 22, GNA – Mr Abdul-Majeed Dokurgu, the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has handed over the site for the construction of the 24-Hour Economy market model to the contractor for work to commence on the project.

The project, to be constructed at the Apremdo-Abenbebom Central Market, is being executed by Musof Enterprise Limited, and is expected to be completed within a 36-month period.

It is being funded by the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).

Speaking at a brief ceremony to hand over the site, Mr Dokurgu said the project formed part of the government’s resetting agenda to construct commercial centres that would provide round-the-clock services in the country.

He assured traders currently engaging in their economic activities at Abenbebom market that they would not be displaced, and that trading activities would not be affected during the construction period.

The MCE noted that the project when completed would boost local economic activities and improve market infrastructure within the municipality.
